I began my blog this year. I began my podcast this year.

I overcame a mountain of fear.

My first post was all about having zero fear.

I am becoming comfortable with not being comfortable.

I am changing lanes from dreams to goals. I’m switching gears from one day to why not now.

My #OneWord2020 is fearless.

I have wasted so much time letting fear get in the way of dreams. Letting fear make me think I could never do x. Letting fear make me think no one would ever want to read y.

I have moved beyond the regret of time wasted because regret is a time waster. Regret is dream stopper. Regret makes one become stagnant.

I have some big goals this year.

Children and teachers need fans, cheerleaders.

It is my hope to continue to inspire and cheer on teachers and students. I plan to be their biggest fans in some pretty big ways.

To do this, I need to be fearless.

You will see a graphic for “fearless” at the end of this post. The words were chosen intentionally, with time spent in reflection, challenging myself, and making commitments. There are some words that reference accomplishments (such as blog and podcast) to remind me of the results that can occur when I am fearless.

As you pull into the driveway of 2020, don’t think resolutions. Instead, ask yourself:

  • What do I want to do better?
  • What do I want to do differently?
  • What has been holding me back?
  • Of what am I afraid?

Do you have your word, your focus, or your goals for this year? Let’s hear them.
